So you have created your own website, App, SaaS, or online store, but decided the day has come to actually sell it? There are quite a few places where you might sell it, but here are a few of my personal recommendations.
Let me help you find the best place to sell your website:
Small(er) projects <$20,000
Flippa.com has gained a lot of traction in recent years. With a lot of buyers waiting for their next asset to buy, I can indeed recommend them.
However, as the transaction will be mostly unvetted use an Escrow service to not become a victim of scammers. I nearly lost $10,000 a while ago, because I nearly oversaw that visitor numbers were inflated when I was planning to buy a website.
Flippa also has its own valuation tool to help you out with defining your selling price. In additional, I also recommend my article on how to value your website.
Alternative marketplaces:
- MicroAcquire.com (especially for SaaS projects)
- IndieMaker.co
Medium-sized projects (>$20,000 – x00,000)
For medium-sized projects I can recommend both:
Both do quality vetting and have great folks help you during your sale. You will pay a commission if you land a successful sale, but you will also enjoy their extensive support (e.g. migration, negotiation).
For larger projects (>$500,000)
Here I can particularly recommend FEInternational.com. If you want me to connect you with their team – just reach out to me.
